| THURSDAY MARCH 16, 2006 Brothers Past w/ Corleone Exit/In in Nashville TN Doors at 9:00pm :: 18+only :: $8 ADV/ $8 DOS Brothers Past has gained a reputation as a thunderous live act with an ever-growing repertoire of songs and sounds. Recently, the New York Press called Brothers Past, "the square-jawed, bastard child of Pink Floyd with a gigantic stage show." Playing over 650 performances since 2000, the band brings their futuristic brand of improvisation to create concerts that seamlessly weave dance segments between their large and varied catalog of active songs. Consistent sell-outs of premiere venues in New York and other northeast cities, along with many near capacity shows throughout the country, attest to the band's rising popularity and momentum. Past work includes the September 2004 five-song EP, statEPolice, which Chicago's Innerview called "Delicious." December 2002's A Wonderful Day, a concept album about insomnia and paranoia was deemed "Excellent, eccentric, engrossing" by the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Philadelphia Daily News wrote, "This group jumps out as something special on its futuristic concept album." In December 2001, the band conceived Elements, an experimental studio album mixing live recordings with computer sequences to produce an altogether new sonic tapestry. Richard Gehr of the Village Voice exclaimed, "Elements has style. It's one of the first great post-Phish trance-fusion albums and sounds like Pink Floyd jamming with Sasha and Digweed in Brian Eno's bedroom." |

| WEDNESDAY APRIL 19, 2006 MOFRO w/ Leaving Miss Blue Rhythm and Brews,Chattanooga, TN Doors at 8:30pm show at 9pm:: 18+only :: $12 GEN ADM This will be a great show. Mofro a five piece Floridian outfit with amazing soul, that sparks the mind and frees the sprit. Singer and band leader J.J. Grey is on of the most talented musicians in the improvisational scene. "An honest, down-home storyteller with one hell of a voice, and genuine love for the swamplands where he grew up... The somber, solo work in "The Long Way Home" brings Grey to the forefront of singer-songwriters.: Glide Magazine The band has played around the south with Widespread Panic, where the guys will open the shows and sit-in occasionally. Mofro is an unmistakably Southern hybrid that maintains elements of funk, blues, country and Dixie rock. This combination of sound is addicting, and their live performances are high energy and filled with that down home flair. Mofro’s second album, and latest release, Lochloosa, is being released on Swampland Records via Robert Randolph’s record label through Warner Brothers. The album was produced and recorded by Dan Prothero (Fog City Records). Lochloosa carries on a conversation started by its predecessor, Blackwater (also produced by Prothero). From the pensive workings of “The Wrong Side” to the gloomy haunts of “10,000 Islands” to the happy memories of the title track to the outright defiance of “Dirtfloorcracker,” one immediately gets the impression that Mofro isn’t about genre hopping. MOFRO is about soul. |
